Many of our patients get to know both of us, but we each have particular interests within dentistry.
We are proud to operate Droel Family Dentistry as a truly independent mom-and-pop office. As doctor/owners, we maintain high standards for ourselves and our excellent team without having to answer to any higher corporate powers.
In our continuing education, we spend a lot of time each year (far more than the state requires) obtaining advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, reconstructive dentistry, pediatric care, dental implants, medical/dental connections, and patient comfort.
We meet regularly with some of the best dental specialists and dentists in the area through the North Oaks Spear Study Club and OMS Spear Study Club. We also are active members of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and Minneapolis District Dental Society. Dr. Andy is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Our home, in North Oaks, is very lively thanks to our two young daughters and a fairly well-behaved young dog.
Kid-Savvy Family Dentist with an Interest in Restorative and Preventive Dental Care
My favorite part of being a dentist is getting to know families. Many of my college-aged patients were little kids when they first visited me, and I am honored that they (and their parents) still keep returning to our office!
I graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2003, earning honors by participating in the Jamaica and Cuba Dental Missions and serving as a Student Ambassador. After that, I was a General Practice Resident at Hennepin County Medical Center, receiving advanced training in complex adult and children's dentistry. I am originally from Rochester, MN, and graduated from the College of St. Benedict.
I am an avid runner, and I stay very busy on my days off volunteering at our kids' school.
Friendly and Enthusiastic Dentist with a Particular Focus in Complex Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry
I am continually surprised by how much I enjoy this career. I savor the challenge of problem-solving for patients seeking relief from complex dental conditions. Each mouth is unique because each patient has different problems and goals.
I was a 2002 graduate of the University of Minnesota dental school. I graduated summa cum laude from Bowdoin College in Maine. In dental school I was chosen to conduct two full-year research projects, and earned an award for excellence in prosthodontics (reconstructive dentistry). I have been an adjunct Assistant Professor at the the University Dental School.
I almost always bicycle to work, except on the snowiest winter days, and I also play upright bass with HamDog, an established Twin Cities oldtime and bluegrass band.
